How to Level Up Your Base Fast

Last updated: May 2024  ·  6 min read  ·  Updated for v0.4 Sakurajima

Your Palbox level determines how many Pals you can assign to your base — and unlocking more slots is one of the most impactful things you can do for productivity. Here's how to grind base XP as fast as possible.

What Gives Base XP

Placing new structures
Every new building placed grants XP. The more expensive the structure, the more XP.
High XP
Defeating raid attackers
Each raid kill gives base XP. High-level raids are the best source of bulk XP.
High XP
Catching Pals near the base
Catching wild Pals in your base's territory gives XP to the base.
Medium XP
Completing base tasks
Crafting, harvesting crops, and gathering resources at the base all contribute small amounts.
Low XP
💡 Fastest MethodThe quickest way to level your base early is to spam cheap structures. Build and demolish things like Berry Plantations and Wooden Chests repeatedly. Each placement gives XP even if you demolish it immediately after.

Step-by-Step Fast Leveling Strategy

  1. Early game (Levels 1-5): Place every structure you can afford. Logging Site, Stone Pit, Berry Plantation, Workbench, Campfire, Chests — place them all as fast as you unlock them.
  2. Mid game (Levels 5-12): Survive and win every raid. The XP from raid kills is massive. Make sure your base defenses can handle them without you intervening.
  3. Mid-late (Levels 12-17): Unlock and place Assembly Lines and Electric Furnaces — expensive structures that give big XP chunks.
  4. Late game (Levels 17-20): Keep placing end-game structures. The XP curve flattens here, so raids become the primary source.

Don't Forget Your Other Bases

You can have up to 3 bases simultaneously. Leveling all three gives you 60 total Pal worker slots across your whole operation. Consider specializing each base — one for ore mining, one for food production, one for wood and crafting.
