How to Beat Zoe & Grizzbolt

Zoe and Grizzbolt are the first Tower Boss encounter in Palworld, found at the Rayne Syndicate Tower in the starting region. This fight introduces the Tower Boss format — a timed, arena-style battle where you face a trainer and their powerful Pal with no escape. Here's exactly how to beat them.

⚠️ Before You EnterTower Boss fights have a time limit. If you don't defeat Grizzbolt in 10 minutes, you lose. Make sure you're at least Level 12 and have 3-4 strong Pals before attempting this fight.
Best Pals to Bring
Grizzbolt is Electric-type, which means Ground-type Pals deal bonus damage against it. Avoid bringing Water or Flying Pals as they take extra damage from Electric attacks.
Digtoise
Ground-type, deals super effective damage. Best choice if you have one.
Rushoar
Ground-type, easy to catch early. Good sustained damage output.
Foxparks
Not super effective but high DPS. Use if you don't have Ground Pals.
Tanzee
Grass-type, neutral damage but fast attacks help chip down HP.
💡 Your Own Weapons MatterDon't rely solely on your Pals. Bring a Crossbow or better ranged weapon and shoot Grizzbolt directly while your Pals tank. Your personal DPS can be the difference between winning and running out of time.
Grizzbolt's Attack Patterns
Lightning Strike
Grizzbolt calls down a lightning bolt on your position. Telegraphed by a yellow circle on the ground.
Counter: Move out of the yellow circle immediately. It has a 1-second delay.
Gatling Gun Spray
Zoe mounts Grizzbolt and fires a rapid stream of bullets in a wide arc. High damage if caught in it.
Counter: Circle around to Grizzbolt's side or back. The spray is front-focused.
Electric Charge
Grizzbolt charges forward with an electrified tackle. Knocks you back and deals significant damage.
Counter: Dodge sideways. Don't try to run away — it's faster than you.
Thunder Cage
Summons a ring of lightning pillars around you. Used when Grizzbolt is below 50% HP.
Counter: Sprint through a gap between pillars as they form. Stay moving.
Step-by-Step Strategy
- Enter with 3 Pals deployed immediately — switch to your strongest Pal as soon as the fight starts.
- Focus on Grizzbolt, not Zoe — Zoe is just a rider. All your attacks and Pals should target Grizzbolt.
- Keep moving — Standing still is how you die. Constantly strafe and reposition.
- Swap Pals when they get low — Don't let a Pal faint. Swap it out and let it recover, then bring it back.
- Use healing items freely — Don't hoard them. Use Meat or Berries whenever your HP drops below half.
- At 50% HP, expect Thunder Cage — Be ready to dash through the lightning pillars.
