Best Weapons Tier List
Last updated: May 2024 · 8 min read · Updated for v0.4 Sakurajima
Not all weapons are worth crafting in Palworld. This tier list ranks every major weapon by damage output, ammo efficiency, and practical usefulness across different stages of the game.
💡 General RuleRanged weapons dominate in Palworld. Your character deals significant damage with guns while your Pals handle tanking and additional DPS. Melee weapons are mostly early-game stopgaps — upgrade to a bow or rifle as fast as possible.
S
Rocket Launcher
Heavy · Late Game
Highest single-hit damage in the game. Devastating against bosses and large groups. Ammo is expensive to craft but worth it for Tower Boss fights.
Assault Rifle
Rifle · Late Game
Best sustained DPS weapon. High fire rate, decent accuracy, and manageable ammo cost. The go-to weapon for end-game content.
A Tier — Strong, Worth Crafting
Pump-Action Shotgun
Shotgun · Mid-Late Game
Exceptional close-range damage. Each shell hits multiple times. Ideal for dungeon runs and fast-moving enemies.
Refined Metal Bow
Bow · Mid Game
Silent, ammo-efficient, and hits hard enough for most mid-game content. Great before you unlock firearms.
Handgun
Pistol · Mid Game
Fast fire rate and reliable damage. Good all-around weapon from mid-game through early late-game.
B Tier — Decent, Situational
Crossbow
Bow · Early-Mid Game
Big upgrade over the basic bow. Carries you through early game and into the first Tower Boss fight comfortably.
Fire Bow
Bow · Mid Game
Applies Burning status which deals damage over time. Good against enemies weak to Fire but the DOT is inconsistent.
C & D Tier — Skip If Possible
Wooden Bow
Bow · Early Game
Fine for the first hour. Upgrade to Crossbow as fast as possible — the damage falls off very quickly.
Stone Spear / Metal Spear
Melee · Early Game
Melee is risky in Palworld — enemies deal a lot of damage up close. Only use if you run out of arrows.
