You can carry 5 Pals into battle in Palworld. Picking the right combination — with good element coverage and role balance — makes every encounter significantly easier. These are the best team compositions for different stages of the game.
💡 Team Building BasicsAlways try to cover at least 3 different elements in your team. One dedicated tank (high HP), two DPS Pals, and one utility Pal is a strong baseline. Swap your active Pal frequently based on enemy element weaknesses.
Early Game Teams (Levels 1–20)
Early Game · Starter Team
The Balanced Beginners
A well-rounded team built from Pals available near the starting area. Covers Fire, Ground, and Grass damage with a sturdy neutral tank.

Fire DPS
Flamethrower carry. Also usable as a held weapon.
Rushoar
Ground Tank
High HP, Ground attacks hit Electric types hard.
Tanzee
Grass DPS
Fast attacks, good for Water and Ground enemies.
Pengullet
Ice / Water
Covers Fire weaknesses. Also useful at base.
Cattiva
Flex / Support
Can fight in a pinch and useful for catching.

Key Passive Skills for Combat Pals
- Legend — ATK +20%, DEF +20%, Speed +20%. Best in slot for any combat Pal.
- Ferocious — ATK +20%. Stack with Legend for maximum damage.
- Musclehead — ATK +30% but Work Speed -50%. Pure combat stat stick.
- Swift — Movement speed +30%. Great for keeping up with fast enemies.
- Burly Body — DEF +20%. Good for designated tanks.
