How to Get 4 Perfect Passive Skills

Last updated: May 2024  ยท  11 min read  ยท  Updated for v0.4 Sakurajima

Getting a Pal with 4 ideal passive skills is the end-game of Palworld's breeding system. It takes multiple generations of careful breeding, but the result is a Pal that's dramatically more powerful or efficient than anything you can catch in the wild. Here's exactly how to do it.

๐Ÿงฌ How Passive Inheritance WorksEach parent passes up to 2 passive skills to the offspring. The game randomly selects which skills transfer. To get 4 specific passives on one Pal, you need both parents to each carry 2 of your target passives โ€” then keep breeding until RNG gives you all 4.

Step-by-Step: The Generation Method

The key is to build toward your target 4 passives across multiple breeding generations. Each generation gets you closer until both parents carry 2 of your 4 target skills.

G1
Catch or find Pals that naturally have 1-2 of your target passives. You need two Pals: one with passives A+B, one with passives C+D.
Parent A+B / Parent C+D
G2
Breed G1 parents together. Keep offspring that inherited 2+ target passives. Repeat until you have two offspring โ€” one with A+B, one with C+D.
Offspring A+B / Offspring C+D
G3
Breed G2 offspring together. Each parent carries 2 target passives. Keep breeding until an offspring inherits all 4: A+B+C+D.
Target: A+B+C+D โœ“
โš ๏ธ RNG WarningG3 can take many attempts. Each breed has a random chance of inheriting any combination of the parents' passives. Budget 10-20 Cakes for the final generation โ€” sometimes you get lucky on attempt 3, sometimes it takes 25.
