Dragon-type Pals are among the strongest in Palworld — high base stats, powerful skills, and many double as the best mounts in the game. They're weak to Ice-type attacks, so bring Chillet or Frostallion when hunting them. Here are the best Dragon Pals and where to find them.
🐉 Dragon WeaknessAll Dragon-type Pals take extra damage from Ice-type attacks. When trying to weaken a Dragon Pal for catching, use Ice Pals or Ice-element weapons to lower their HP without killing them.
Top Dragon-Type Pals
Dragon Type
The fastest mount in the game and a devastating combat Pal. Jetragon can fly at incredible speed and its missile attack hits for massive Dragon damage. One of four Legendary Pals — catching it is a major milestone.
Location: Beach of Everlasting Summer — volcanic western coast. Spawns as a level 50 alpha encounter.
Dragon Type
A strong flying Dragon Pal that's accessible earlier than Jetragon. Excellent combat stats and a great flying mount. Also useful for breeding — it's a parent in several valuable combos including Anubis.
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary and desert regions. Also found in the Sand Dunes area around level 30-35.
Dragon / Water Type
A chunky Dragon Pal with high HP that makes a great tank. Has a Relaxaurus Lux variant (Electric-type) that can be obtained through breeding with Sparkit. Good mid-game Dragon option before you find rarer types.
Location: Bamboo groves and forested areas in the mid-game region. Common spawn around level 15-25.
Ice / Dragon Type
An Ice/Dragon hybrid that works as both a counter to other Dragon Pals and a decent combat Pal itself. Easy to catch and useful throughout mid-game. Also a good base Pal with decent work suitabilities.
Location: Cold areas near snow biomes and mountain foothills. Common from level 15 onward.
Water / Dragon Type
A sea serpent Dragon Pal with powerful Water and Dragon attacks. Can be ridden across water as a mount. Strong in combat and useful for breeding rare combinations. Has a Fire variant (Jormuntide Ignis) via breeding.
Location: Large bodies of water and ocean areas. Alpha version spawns in the ocean southeast of the starting island.
Dragon-Type Combat Tips
- Use Dragon attacks against Dark-type enemies — Dragon is super effective against Dark.
- Avoid using Dragon against Ice enemies — Ice is strong against Dragon, not the other way around.
- Flying Dragon Pals are great for exploration — Jetragon and Quivern let you reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
- Breed Dragon Pals for powerful hybrids — Many of the best Pals in the game come from Dragon breeding combinations.
