Iron Ore is the backbone of mid-game crafting in Palworld. You need it for ingots, weapons, armor, and base structures — and demand only increases as you progress. Here are the best locations to farm it, and how to set up a fully automated pipeline.
⛏️ Key TipIron ore nodes respawn after roughly 1 in-game hour. The best strategy is to build your base next to a dense cluster and let Digtoise or Anubis mine automatically — you'll always have a steady supply without manually farming.
Best Iron Ore Locations
The best early-mid game iron farm. Multiple large iron ore clusters spawn within a small area near the Rayne Syndicate Tower. Flat terrain makes it ideal for building a mining base here. Also has Coal nearby.
Node count: 8-10 iron nodes in close proximity
The highest iron ore density in the game. The rocky terrain around Mount Obsidian is packed with iron, coal, and sulfur nodes. Best for late-game players with heat-resistant armor who can survive the environment.
Node count: 15+ mixed ore nodes in close range
The best early iron spot near the starting area. Rocky cliff faces on the eastern edge of the starting plateau have several iron nodes clustered together. Not the richest spot but accessible from level 1.
Node count: 4-6 iron nodes
Automated Iron Pipeline Setup
Manual mining is slow. The real efficiency comes from building a base next to an iron cluster and letting your Pals handle it automatically.
🏠Build base near iron nodes — Place your Palbox within range of at least 4-6 iron ore nodes. The Rayne Syndicate area is ideal.
⛏️Place Stone Pit — Assign Digtoise (Mining Lv3) or Anubis (Mining Lv3). They'll mine iron nodes automatically.
🔥Build Primitive Furnace → Electric Furnace — Assign a Fire-type Pal (Kindling). Iron ore auto-smelts into ingots.
📦Add transport Pals — Cattiva or Univolt move ingots to storage chests automatically.
✅Result — Iron ingots accumulate in your chest while you do anything else. Come back to a full stockpile.
Best Pals for Mining Iron
- Digtoise (Mining Lv3) — Fastest miner, essential for an efficient iron farm
- Anubis (Mining Lv3) — Also has Handiwork Lv4, great dual-purpose Pal
- Astegon (Mining Lv4) — Best miner in game, hard to obtain but worth it
- Dumud (Mining Lv2) — Good stepping stone before getting Digtoise
